Farmore Limited: Growing a Greener Tomorrow in Tororo
Farmore Limited was established with a clear mission: to demonstrate that profitable, productive farming can coexist with environmental stewardship, especially in the face of climate change.
Our 5-acre farm serves as a living laboratory, showcasing practical, scalable solutions for small and medium-sized farms in Uganda and beyond.
To be the premier model for integrated organic and climate-smart agriculture in East Africa, leading the transformation towards food-secure, environmentally sustainable, and economically empowered farming communities.
We pursue this vision through strategic actions focused on production, education, and resilience. Our three core objectives are:
1. Sustainable Production & Market Growth:
Increase annual production of high-quality, certified organic poultry and goat value chain products by 20% year-over-year to meet growing demand in local and regional markets.
2. Agribusiness Capacity Building:
Train and certify 300 individuals annually through practical, hands-on programs focusing on organic farming techniques, climate-smart resilience, and comprehensive agribusiness value chain management.
3. Climate-Smart Model Establishment:
Fully implement and document three key climate-smart agricultural technologies of rainwater harvesting, solar-powered irrigation, or advanced composting on the 5-acre farm thereby establishing Farmore as a verified center for resilience demonstration.
We run a unique integrated organic system centered around poultry and goat farming. This system includes:
1. Goat Farming: Raising local and improved breeds for meat and dairy, producing rich organic manure.
2. Poultry Farming: Producing free-range chickens, eggs, and broiler meat, often fed with crops fertilized by our goat manure.
3. Horticulture: Growing organic crops using natural fertilizers, which are then used as supplemental feed or sold on the market.
4. Climate Smart Techniques: Employing technologies like rainwater harvesting, composting, and soil conservation practices to minimize our environmental footprint and maximize yield stability.
Acre Model
We are deeply invested in the growth of our local community. Beyond producing food, we generate local employment and are committed to sharing our successful model through practical, hands-on training.
